Required Education

The University of Michigan has several required educational opportunities for new employees. These trainings are required for all employees on the Ann Arbor, Flint, and Dearborn campuses as well as Michigan Medicine. Michigan Medicine employees have additional required training beyond the below.

Building a Culture That Thrives: Preventing Workplace Retaliation

  • This course, designed for faculty and staff, provides information about preventing retaliation and protecting those who report improper behavior in support of the Protection from Retaliation policy. This module should take about 25 minutes to complete.

Recognizing and Responding to Hazing

An early November snow covers Central Campus.
  • This course, designed for any UM community member inclusive of faculty, staff and students, offers information about hazing; what it is, how to recognize it, what to do if you or someone you know experiences it, and how we all play a role in prevention. This module should take about 15 minutes.
